Information for distributors      Call for acquisition candidates

NoorderSoft in Amsterdam, Holland, is the software-branche of "Noorderzon Cruises b.v.", a company active in the commercial transport by water since 1990. NoorderSoft produces computer programs for voyage planning, transport planning, time calculation, cost calculation and fleet management on the European inland waterways. At the same time NoorderSoft exploits a detailed data collection with all the features of the European waterways. This allows the company to consult and advise companies and institutions in all matters concerning transport by the inland waterways network.

NoorderSoft supplies consultancy to governmental institutions dealing with waterways transport. Thanks to the unparalleled knowledge of the waterways system and to the expertise in all matters concerning shipping practice, an efficient, fast advise can be given whenever and where ever it is needed.

Noordersoft cooperates with other companies in its branche, both for the software development and for the consultancy activities. NoorderSoft is a member of the European Association of Developers of Inland Nautical Software, a joint effort of companies that are active in this area.

NoorderSoft is also in close cantact with the "wet" departments of the Dutch ministry of Transport (Rijkswaterstaat) and with national and international platforms, amongst which the Central Rhine Commission and the Central Danube Commission. NoorderSoft participated in the E.U. funded research and development project called "COMPRIS", that aimed at the implementation of so called River Information Services (RIS). In this project NoorderSoft developed and produced software that provides access to these River Information Services directly from the wheelhouse of ships.

In NoorderSoft different disciplines cooperate: ICT is taken care of by Peter Feenstra, who is responsible for everything around the software, the programs, the production, the support and the service to customers.

The maintenance of the waterways network data and the advices and consultancy to companies and institutions is Hans Kouwenberg's job: he knows his way through Europe, as long as it is by waterway.
